Oprah Winfrey says au revoir with final show

22:02: ". All the sweet and bitter," says the show is to end this and this, he insists, is because it does not say goodbye - ". I'll just say until we meet again" And yet, he is against taking their obvious plug here."God be the glory," he says, and that is the last sentence of Oprah Winfrey Show.

Mourn. It does little to honor the cycle with the public for Steadman highlighted offer a hug, so before you cut behind the scenes at all "team" cheer.Oh Oprah. Good luck to you, and I mean it. I think you and I know you're going to need. And that is all, everybody! Thanks for joining me tonight. And we can not even be a vegetable for theOprah Winfrey to deal with the pain.

21:54: Aw, Oprah is a second grade teacher in the audience! And that wonderful woman Mrs. Duncan. And just as each of us has something to do when you change jobs, Oprah just gave away his new email address. And 'oprah@oprah.com, fantasies for those who send Oprah a funny video youtube.Tears! Oprah is crying! Well, he stretched out until 21:51 GMT.

21:51: "People ask me if I regret, not really," he said. Of course not.But then she said she feels that he has not done enough to draw attention to the issue of child sexual abuse, even if it has 217 episodes in it.As many know, Oprah has confessed to the abuse he suffered as a child in the air, "because I felt safe enough with you," Oprah says to the public.Again, not a skeptic of Sally, but it is absolutely true that? I mean, not like the studio audience was the same every week. Would not it be more accurate - and equally legitimate - to say he did it because I knew it would be useful to call attention to the problem? But then, of course, that not only destroy the illusion of intimacy and informality Oprah still cultivates his sample, but also be a recognition of his extraordinary celebrity verboten.

And then we cut the clip, one of his most remarkable performances, when 100 men came into the studio to talk about children who have suffered abuse in childhood.

9:48 p.m.: Oh, she talks about God now. I could do without it, to be honest, but that's just me. This is America, and God, and especially of Jesus - who played as part of his success as his "team", apparently - big game here."From the Mississippi to this moment with you, I know what is a miracle," he said, referring to his life, because the supposed evidence of the hand of God.Yes, she says things from time to time, but I do not know if I really think she means. Oprah is just like a hard worker, I find it hard to trust that it is no secret that she herself had much to do with his career as a divinity. In other words, I have been accused of playing lip spiritual.Yes, I said.

21:47: And, inevitably, just as I said, referring to driving their own - 37 minutes into the show, the mind. And even then it was only the assurance that "my team" not unemployed - they are going right. But that's all.

9:45 p.m.: It's interesting that she did not mention not already, its network rather disappointing news, it will focus on today.

Instead, when referring to the lessons he urged his audience to learn over the years ("You are worthy," "Raise Your Voice", etc, etc), instead of saying, as I expected, "And I to continue to teach these lessons himself "or something else, she says," And we must bear in mind that after you finish. "In the month of April.

21:31: So now we have ad breaks, during which Oprah probably earns $ 7 million, which gives me time to talk about how brave he is, in fact, to do this in his last show on their own. This means it has to comfort him and make him show his - dare I say - a little more socially important (culturally important, yes, I will give him, but socially, I'd be a little more reluctant to claim) that it is - but appears to be modest. It does this by always using the first person plural, and in reference to his "team" when talking about his accomplishments as helping people deal with their alcoholism.

Even these tactical measures are quickly followed by references to what you learned from your guests (even if these lessons are not specified exactly).

21:27: And the final form of this show is becoming clear: clips from previous concerts have shown that Oprah is doing (with some well-deserved, I must say) deprecating remark hair and makeup that long ago, Oprah's life, learned the extracts lesson, which is usually "Best experience in your life", just reworded differently. And I'm OK with that, to be honest. OK, it lacks the drama of Aretha Franklin singing Amazing Grace to her, as happened on the show yesterday, but there is always something nice to see Oprah in his low key way and not schmoozing with Tom Hanks. His last week was a good mix of what Oprah is best known for: the celebrities and the vague New Age-y cheerleading. I'm sorry, personally, we do not receive Dr. Oz, Dr. Phil and Suze Orman - Oprah herd "experts" - I've always appreciated. But at least it is not to promote secrecy, or any other form of homeopathic regime.

9:24 p.m.: Oprah just said she knew nothing about the "show", but his staff arranged without his knowledge.

But how can that be? I thought Oprah was omniscient being.

21:11: She is, inevitably, how he learned of his audience. It would be interesting to know what would be, precisely, to present the hysteria of the gifts, as the embodiment of human venality? For two days, Oprah hosted this can only be called an extravagance as a race to the farewell performance, with the likes of Madonna, Beyonce and, uh, Dakota Fanning, returns to say goodbye. But today, Oprah said, there will be no surprises."It's a love letter to you," she said. This may be an hour. And yes, he is now set to talk about how we all need to find a "vocation". But Oprah! What if my calling is to watch the Oprah Winfrey?

21:08: And now it is today, after 4561 days (Oprah just said that - my math is not so good.)He certainly did not wash their hands well for her pretty pink dress. And yes, people in the audience are already sobbing."There are no words to match this moment," says Oprah, before it happens to say a whole lot of words. She very gently, showing clips of his shows at the beginning and it must be said, it shows a commendable lack of vanity on his part to do so ("We had no hair and makeup, then," she notes dryly.)The camera has a quick pot Steadman, his fiancee of long-term look ever so much love."I just wanted to do a good job, and do no harm," he said, adorable.

21:06: Good evening everyone and thanks for joining. There are moments that really set the pace of life: learning to ride a bike without stabilizers, their bat'mitzvah, the end of Oprah. Sorry, did I say your life? I meant "my life". And I do not memorize some Hebrew phonics to this rite of passage. So while we wait for the people at the General Hospital to stop giving each other looks like Moody supported by string orchestras, and the latest Oprah Winfrey Show to begin with, let us work in the statistics:That was in the air for 25 years. 7 million people watch your every day, but probably it is 7 billion (or less).
for an Oscar.Ah, OK, let's start!

20:00: Evening all, or, if you're reading this in America, good afternoon. And if you're reading this in Australia, a good tomorrow! So maybe the Rapture did not happen on Saturday, but at the end of the world will arrive tonight Oh, but at the end of The Oprah Winfrey Show after 25 years anyway, which of course is the the same.In order to get a box of Kleenex, or if you're less romantically inclined, vomit bag and get ready for hours and hours of Schmooze, tears and backslaps. I'll be liveblogging after the first show of 21 GMT, Kleenexes spread my bed.

"It is something that grips us about it. It is something to be with people, being there for histor."And talk show host Oprah Winfrey is anything but small: 30,000 visitors, 4500 episodes and 283 elements called her "Favorite Things", famous for the annual homage. But there is still a larger question: What Winfrey May 25 finale? The Best of Tina Turner - Celebrate! - DTS (2000)

This concert was filmed in London in November 1999 to celebrate the six decades of Tina Turner on the planet. The DVD is available in Europe since June, and, finally, will be available from the American fans this year in the month of November. The show is not the same that is currently on tour to North America. The concert begins with the classic 1966 River Deep, Mountain High. After this landmark song, sings the title track of his latest album, "24-7." Continuous, stronger and faster version of his 1989 hit "Steamy Windows". Although his recent non-European. 1 game, and the U.S. Billboard Dance Chart Top 3 singles: "When the anxiety is over" is not really suitable for a live version he will give it a try here. The next song, the United Kingdom hit single, "whatever", he joined the London Gospel Choir.

Two ballads, "Do not leave me this way" and his 1983 return hit "Let's stay together" is the next before rejoining the London Gospel Choir is probably the best disc of the DVD: a superb version of "Speak to my heart "This is too her latest album," Twenty Four Seven ". Pond to give everything he had in his rocking version of" Wait, I come "(available anywhere else!) It was by Bryan Adams as the two duets. Naturally, 1985 hit "It 'Only Love" and recent duet "Without You". Although his studio version of "All Woman," "Twenty Four Seven," sounds like a rather weak, the live version here is one of the lively songs I've ever heard. The concert ended with two of his classics, "Nutbush City Limits" and 1989 is the European number one "best".

The DVD also includes dedications birthday of artists such as Bob Geldof, Al Green, Dolly Parton, Annie Lennox, Cher, David Bowie, Mick Jagger, Phil Spector, PP Arnold, Bono, Mariah Carey, Ricky Martin and Sting + interview with Lady itself. The DVD bonus materials also Europe: promo videos when heartache is over, and "what you need" (Superb video!) + A biography and a photo gallery. Turner The best video available today!

Beloved DVD

One of the most noble and painful follies of recent years. Toni Morrison's famous novel 1987 "Beloved" difficult, allusive, and full of ghosts, is probably unadaptable, but Oprah Winfrey, with director Jonathan Demme in tow, went ahead with the project, after eleven years of discouragement. Oprah plays Seth, a former slave who, in 1873, lives on a farm in Ohio with her teenage daughter, Denver (Kimberly Elise), his old friend and new friend Paul D (Danny Glover) and the ghost of the girl she is died long ago when the girl was about to be taken into slavery. The ghost, first an invisible presence, breaking plates on the floor, then appears as a beautiful young woman (Thandie Newton), who growls and speaks very, very slowly. The film seems to be completely wrong: instead of dramatizing the moral condition of the people overwhelmed by an unspeakable past, dramatizes the internal problems of life with a spirit-demon.

For most of the hundred and 74 minutes, we're stuck in this house, and when the filmmakers do not shot on the complex events that occur early (during the years of the slave), we can not always say what going on. But there are moments of natural beauty Various poetry and also some wonderful players Kessia Kordell as a half-mad runaway white girl who helps deliver baby Seth in the woods, and Beah Richards, shaking and crying as the elderly Baby Suggs preacher and brings momentary spectacle of life. -David Denby

Tuesdays With Morrie DVD

In the film Tuesday with Morris, (Hank Azaria), Mitch is a successful writer who learns suddenly that sports one of his former teachers, Morris (Jack Lemmon) is ill. Mitch visits Morri and form an emotional bond to two, to see what Mitch is really important in life. Tuesdays with Morri is classified as a drama, but it has some funny parts and some sports. Morris said some things that made me laugh. They show Mitch at sporting events and press conferences. Mitch eventually fly 700 miles to Boston from Detroit every Tuesday to visit his dying professor. Mitch feels bad when he first goes to visit Morri because he had not spoken with Morris for 16 years after he said he would keep in touch graduated from Brandeis University. At the end of the film finally got Morri Mitch to open up and cry. He also got Mitch to talk about what he was afraid of life. Mitch has taught a lot about life and about to die.

Tuesdays with Morrie is easy flow of the film, and is very easy to understand. It 'a movie for all ages. Actors, in particular, Jack Lemmon, do an exceptional job in their role in the film. The book and film are almost identical. It's not really big differences between the book and movie. One difference is that the book is the wife Janine Janine Mitch and Mitch's film is his girlfriend. I think Tuesdays with Morrie was a very good movie. It got me thinking, what's important in life, as friends and family. This movie changed my outlook on life. It made me realize what is most important in life and how I treat people, especially my oldest. I think the theme of the film was to get people to better treat people with dignity and respect. I think anyone watching this film leaves happier and more understanding about life and how to treat others.
